De Legal 500 Green Gui­de ver­scheen vorig jaar voor het eerst op de markt. In deze twee­de edi­tie krijgt HVG Law weder­om een waar­de­vol­le ver­mel­ding.

De redac­tie van de Legal 500 Green Gui­de voert jaar­lijks uit­ge­breid onder­zoek uit naar de kennis en erva­ring van teams, even­als de geloofs­brie­ven, en erkent kan­to­ren die sterk gepo­si­ti­o­neerd zijn op het gebied van kwes­ties rond kli­maat­ver­an­de­ring, gover­nan­ce en duur­zaam­heid, en de bij­dra­ge van een kan­toor aan ‘groe­ne ver­an­de­ring’ en Envi­ron­men­tal, Soci­al and Gover­nan­ce (ESG).

Review Legal 500 Green Gui­de: EMEA 2024
The spe­ci­a­li­sed ESG team at Dut­ch full-ser­vi­ce law firm HVG Law LLP pro­vi­des clients with solu­ti­ons con­cerning CSRD appli­ca­bi­li­ty, envi­ron­men­tal sustai­na­bi­li­ty, ESG due dili­gen­ce, cor­po­ra­te gover­nan­ce, and sustai­na­ble sup­ply chains.

The firm ser­ves as legal coun­sel to EU co-fun­ded clean ener­gy and inno­va­ti­on fund EIT Inno­E­ner­gy for its first bank­a­ble ener­gy-as-a-ser­vi­ce pro­ject and busi­ness model. The ener­gy team has advi­sed on model agree­ments, con­tract law, regu­la­ti­on, and the finan­ci­al and ope­ra­ti­o­nal lea­se of solar panels. A key client is the Nether­lands Asso­ci­a­ti­on for Rene­wa­ble Ener­gy, for whom the firm col­la­bo­ra­ted with EY and the Design and Inno­va­ti­on Group to research the cur­rent lead times for Dut­ch rene­wa­ble ener­gy pro­jects and advi­se on acce­le­ra­ti­on opti­ons. By hel­ping ensu­re pro­jects beco­me ope­ra­ti­o­nal quic­ker, the research is vital in sup­por­ting the govern­ment tar­get for a mini­mum 55% CO2 reduc­ti­on by 2030. The firm’s stu­dy recom­mends a com­bi­ned sub­si­dy and per­mit cli­ma­te, front-end coo­p­e­ra­ti­on with govern­ments, the coo­r­di­na­ti­on of the par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on pro­cess with govern­ments, and the esta­blish­ment of a dedi­ca­ted know­led­ge and imple­men­ta­ti­on cen­tre to increa­se govern­ment capa­ci­ty.

Rot­ter­dam-based cor­po­ra­te expert and ESG prac­ti­ce co-lead Bart Wolters spe­ci­a­li­ses in assis­ting clients regar­ding sustai­na­bi­li­ty-rela­ted M&A, com­pli­an­ce, due dili­gen­ce, com­mer­ci­al con­trac­ting, cor­po­ra­te gover­nan­ce, and CSRD appli­ca­bi­li­ty assess­ments. Wolters also ser­ves on the mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­na­ry sustai­na­bi­li­ty core team at EY in the Nether­lands.
