Expertise

Willem advises on issues related to privacy, platform regulation and artificial intelligence (AI). His experience includes drafting and reviewing various IT and privacy documents, such as processor agreements and privacy statements.

He is also involved in various IP, IT and privacy due diligence projects within M&A transactions.

Additional information

Willem received his bachelor’s degree in law from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. During this bachelor, he also attended the minor in Internet Law at Leiden University.

He graduated in January 2025 from the University of Amsterdam where he completed the master’s degree in Information Law. He wrote his master’s thesis on the implicit age verification requirement for the pornographic Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs) under the Digital Services Act (DSA) and its impact on the privacy of all users of these platforms.
