Background

Ralph is Executive Director and with HVG Law since 2011 during which period he worked for the Dutch desk of Donahue & Partners in New York (2015 – 2019) and in Chicago (2019 – 2024). Ralph is back in Amsterdam since September 2024 as a member of the Corporate Restructuring team and he also is co-lead of the HVG ESG Team.

Ralph has over 13 year of experience in advising global clients on international corporate and contract law matters in a multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional context (including coordinating and instructing local counsels in over more than 90 jurisdictions in view of the implementation of large cross-border corporate projects).

Expertise

Ralph advises and provides expert assistance for mostly medium-sized and large (international) enterprises on a variety of corporate law issues, such as:

• (international) corporate restructuring projects
• Pre- and post-merger integration projects
• corporate governance
• company and contract law
• supply chain and OME

In addition, Ralph is one of HVG Law’s ESG champions advising clients on legal ESG matters such as but not limited to CSRD, CSDDD and EUDR.

Additional information

Ralph graduated at Amsterdam’s Free University with a master’s degree in corporate law, more specifically the Master Ondernemingsrecht aan de Zuidas which knows a strict selection process based on outstanding study & performance metrics. In May 2011 he was admitted as an attorney-at-law to the Dutch Bar.

Before moving back to Amsterdam Ralph worked at the Dutch legal desk in New York (4 years) and Chicago (5 years).
