His specific area of expertise is the legal design and implementation of multi-disciplinary restructuring projects for multinational clients, with the focus on legal entity rationalization, supply chain projects and operating model effectiveness.

Rutger graduated in Dutch law from the University of Amsterdam in 1991. As part of his studies, Rutger studied English law at the University of Warwick for one year. After completing his law degree at the University of Amsterdam, Rutger earned an LL.M. in International Economic Law at the University of Warwick in 1992.
Rutger was first admitted to the bar in the Netherlands in 1992 and is registered as foreign legal counsel with the New York Bar.
